THE ABANDONED CHILD

In ancient times a great warrior and his wife gave birth to a beautiful baby. However the baby was born with pure white hair and his father thought he might be a demon and that people would mock him.

He decided to abandon the baby on a mountain and left him there with great sadness. The child was rescued by the glorious Golden Bird who took him to her nest and cared for him with her own chicks. The child grew strong and big and himself became a warrior even stronger than his father.

His father was overcome with remorse and every year missed the child with a great ache in his heart. He decided to search for him and went on a long journey.

Father and son met up again and the boy forgave his father for leaving him, and his father realised that his pure white hair was a very distinctive part of hisn son's identity. Furthermore, the father himself had white hair as he was now so old.

However the young man never forgot his adoptive bird mother who had cared for him for all those years. Indeed when his bride became ill close to death, he burned some feathers from the golden bird and his bride was restored to healthy life again.

They lived happily and reared several white haired children in health and wisdom.
